OH NO
It's Saturday morning and I have run out of yarn for my wedding sweater. I am off to work and have no time to run over to my local yarn store. When I originally purchased the yarn I bought extra because I knew I was going to lengthen the sweater. But I did think I had enough. Well, a trip on Monday. My car is giving me trouble. I have just had the heater core replaced. Goodbye $600.00. Now my headlights wont turn off. It looks like another few hundred dollars. For now, each time I get in to go somewhere or get out I have to either connect or disconnect the - battery cable. I have a ghetto car. The coming week is really going to be busy and stressful. Meanwhile I'll go through my knitting books for inspiration for my next project. I have some yarn in my stash which would make a nice summer twin set. Mmmm. Well it's off to work. Bye fer now. Cheers.

Hello again
Well I haven't accomplished what I thought I would have today. I'll be leaving Canada in a few months so I have to get on the ball deciding what stays and what goes with me. It's a very emotional journey going through my "things" and making this decision. I love my books and c.d's and movies but I cannot take all of them with me. I saved most of my music on my laptop so now the c.d's are in a backpack ready to make the journey to the second hand store. I'll take most of my movies as we wont have cable t.v. in our house for a while. Up to now I haven't been able to come to a decision on the books. I'll leave that for another day. I did a little bit of work on my sweater this evening. I have both sleeves on the needles and am now at the sleeve top shaping. I feel worn out so I think I'll have an early night. Better to get to bed than to work tired and end up making stupid mistakes. I talked to Betty (my mum) today so that cheered me up a bit. She'll be here soon for Carly's wedding and then after she will spend a week with me. It's been a couple of years since I've seen her so this is going to be fun. I love my mum so much. God willing and her good health Tito and I are hoping that she will come and spend Christmas with us in Ecuador. Christmas without snow???? This should be interesting. Night night. Bye fer now.

Welcome to my Blog.
Hello friends. I am new to blogging so here goes. My name is Christine and I live in Kingston, Ontario. I am married and have a son who is also married and lives with his family in Oshawa. My husband, Tito, is currently in Ecuador and I shall be joining him in the fall. Another adventure. I am currently employed in the fast food industry as a supervisor. I have been with the same employer for 7 years. I lived in Alberta for a year and had the most amazing time there. My BFF Linda and I enjoy each other's company very much and spend as much time together as possible. We have wonderful fun-filled days card making, knitting and discussing how we would run the world. Currently on my needles is a sweater design by Sirdar # 9414. The pattern calls for Flirt DK but I am using Baby Bamboo colour Sh 126 a beautiful true red. I am making this one to wear at my niece Carly's wedding at the end of June. I had seen the sample at my local knit store and I knew right away this one was for me. I am also very interested in Lace knitting and have purchased yarn from Jamieson and Smith, Shetland Islands, to pursue my interest. I love the look of the traditional Shetland Christening and Wedding Ring Shawls. I purchased Sharon Miller's book Heirloom Knitting and The Best of Knitter's Magazine Shawls and Scarves to help develop my interest. I have taken baby steps to get used to knitting with finer yarn by making scarves and shawls using Misti Alpaca. I love the feel of the finer yarn. When I am purchasing yarn for myself or for a project I have been asked to make I take the time to touch the yarn, smell it and roll it around in my hand. If it doesn't pass my "squeeze" test then I look for something else. If I wouldn't use it for myself then I wouldn't use it for anyone else. I very seldom use yarn from a department store and then only for pet blankets or children's mittens. Children always lose 1 mitten. Strange??? Well I have tired myself out. I'll post more another day. Bye fer now.
